{"id":61895,"date":"2017-07-28T07:30:21","date_gmt":"2017-07-28T11:30:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=61895"},"modified":"2017-07-28T06:54:42","modified_gmt":"2017-07-28T10:54:42","slug":"church-times-conservative-evangelical-group-speak-of-alternative-structures-to-rival-c-of-e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=61895","title":{"rendered":"(Church Times) Conservative Evangelical group speak of alternative \u2018structures\u2019 to rival C of E"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A group of disaffected conservative Evangelicals has expressed a wish for an alternative Anglican structure in Britain.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued last week, the group \u2014 of which several members no longer belong to the C of E \u2014 expresses dismay at recent decisions by the General Synod about sexuality, and reveals that they have been meeting to discuss how to \u201censure a faithful ecclesial future\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In a letter in Tuesday\u2019s Daily Telegraph, the group goes further, and declares that there are two kinds of Anglicanism in Britain: \u201cOne has capitulated to secular values, and one continues to hold the faith \u2018once delivered to the saints\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A similar division in the United States and Canada led to the creation of the breakaway Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), the letter-writers note.
