It remains unclear what the 14-strong Task Force will recommend, but one option presented in the minutes is a first reading of proposed changes to the BCP in 2018, so that revision could take place in 2021, \u201cincluding consultation with ACC [Anglican Consultative Council] and the Lambeth Conference\u201d. The latter takes place in 2020.The 2018 Convention would be presented with a new form of the introduction to marriage and catechism.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor conservatives this would be concerning,\u201d the March minutes state. \u201cYet these proposed revisions would be \u2018two people\u2019, not explicitly \u2018same sex\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
The minutes ask: \u201cIs there a way to disagree that does not require schism?\u201d and note that \u201cMany want to be in a Church where people have theological differences but still pray together.\u201d But they also suggest that the experience of the C of E should serve as a cautionary tale.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Church of England allowed certain divisions regarding women\u2019s ordination that we should be careful not to emulate, as they have become deeply entrenched,\u201d they say. \u201cCreating carve-outs for pockets of the Church under one ecclesiastical structure could lead to difficulties down the line.\u201d<\/p>\n
