{"id":65813,"date":"2017-11-28T16:06:38","date_gmt":"2017-11-28T21:06:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=65813"},"modified":"2017-11-28T18:57:33","modified_gmt":"2017-11-28T23:57:33","slug":"dio-of-london-memory-cafe-how-to-engage-with-memory-loss-and-build-community","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=65813","title":{"rendered":"(Dio of London) Memory Caf\u00e9: How to Engage with Memory Loss and Build Community"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Vicar of a North London Church has published a new book sharing his experiences of running a Memory Caf\u00e9 in his parish in the hope of encouraging other churches to do the same.<\/p>\n<p>The Revd Steve Morris, Vicar of St Cuthbert\u2019s Church in Wembley, established a memory caf\u00e9 in May 2015 as a way to help tackle loneliness and isolation in his parish, and enable the church to play a central role in the heart of community life in Brent.<\/p>\n<p>The memory caf\u00e9 concept brings together isolated people from different backgrounds and faiths in a safe environment, allowing them to forge connections, share companionship, and keep mentally active and physically fit through chair aerobics and healthy eating projects.
