The date fixed for Canon Dyer\u2019s consecration in St Andrew\u2019s Cathedral, Aberdeen, is Thursday 1 March.<\/p>\n<p>The open letter accuses the Bishops of having made an appointment \u201cwhich directly goes against the established wishes of the Diocese on the views it would hope that our new Bishop would hold, and minister to us from the perspective of them\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>An accompanying press release says that the letter \u201cshould not be \u2018spun\u2019 in any way which makes it seem to be about women as Bishops or same sex-marriage\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/articles\/2018\/12-january\/news\/uk\/aberdeen-orkney-letter-questions-new-bishops-election\">Read it all<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A protest against the \u201cdivisive\u201d and \u201cdisrespectful\u201d election of Canon Anne Dyer as Bishop of Aberdeen &amp; Orkney (News, 11 November) has been published by priests and lay people in the diocese.
