And many followed him, and he healed them all, <\/span> <span id=\"en-RSV-23505\" class=\"text Matt-12-16\">and ordered them not to make him known. <\/span> <span id=\"en-RSV-23506\" class=\"text Matt-12-17\">This was to fulfil what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah:<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"poetry\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span id=\"en-RSV-23507\" class=\"text Matt-12-18\">\u201cBehold, my servant whom I have chosen,<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Matt-12-18\">my beloved with whom my soul is well pleased.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Matt-12-18\">I will put my Spirit upon him,<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Matt-12-18\">and he shall proclaim justice to the Gentiles.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span id=\"en-RSV-23508\" class=\"text Matt-12-19\">He will not wrangle or cry aloud,<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Matt-12-19\">nor will any one hear his voice in the streets;<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span id=\"en-RSV-23509\" class=\"text Matt-12-20\">he will not break a bruised reed<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Matt-12-20\">or quench a smoldering wick,<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Matt-12-20\">till he brings justice to victory;<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span id=\"en-RSV-23510\" class=\"text Matt-12-21\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>and in his name will the Gentiles hope.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8211;Matthew 12:14-21<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>But the Pharisees went out and took counsel against him, how to destroy him.
