The Rev\u2019d Dr Emma Ineson, current Principal of Trinity College, Bristol, was appointed by the Bishop of Carlisle, the Rt Rev\u2019d James Newcome after consultation with a diocesan group.<\/p>\n
She will be based in Kendal and will have particular responsibility for the county\u2019s God for All strategy; that everyone in Cumbria \u2013 of all ages and backgrounds \u2013 has the opportunity to know more about God and God\u2019s purpose in their lives that they may become followers of Jesus in a Christian community.<\/p>\n
Emma said: \u201cI am delighted to have been appointed as the Suffragan Bishop of Penrith. I have been so impressed by what I have seen of the creative and innovative approach to building community and reaching every person across the Diocese with the love of Christ, exemplified by the recent \u2018Moving Mountains\u2019 mission.<\/p>\n
\u201cJesus prayed that his disciples would be \u2018one\u2019 and as the first ecumenical Diocese, Carlisle is truly living out what that means in practice. The \u2018God for All\u2019 strategy aims to see every person in Cumbria discovering more of God and becoming followers of Jesus in Christian communities.<\/p>\n
