The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad,
\nthe desert shall rejoice and blossom;
\nlike the crocus it shall blossom abundantly,
\nand rejoice with joy and singing.
\nThe glory of Lebanon shall be given to it,
\nthe majesty of Carmel and Sharon.
\nThey shall see the glory of the Lord,
\nthe majesty of our God.<\/p>\n
Strengthen the weak hands,
\nand make firm the feeble knees.
\nSay to those who are of a fearful heart,
\n\u201cBe strong, fear not!
\nBehold, your God
\nwill come with vengeance,
\nwith the recompense of God.
\nHe will come and save you.\u201d
\nThen the eyes of the blind shall be opened,
\nand the ears of the deaf unstopped;
\nthen shall the lame man leap like a hart,
\nand the tongue of the dumb sing for joy.
\nFor waters shall break forth in the wilderness,
\nand streams in the desert;
\nthe burning sand shall become a pool,
\nand the thirsty ground springs of water;
\nthe haunt of jackals shall become a swamp,
\nthe grass shall become reeds and rushes.<\/p>\n
And a highway shall be there,
\nand it shall be called the Holy Way;
\nthe unclean shall not pass over it,
\nand fools shall not err therein.
\nNo lion shall be there,
\nnor shall any ravenous beast come up on it;
\nthey shall not be found there,
\nbut the redeemed shall walk there.
\nAnd the ransomed of the Lord shall return,
\nand come to Zion with singing;
\neverlasting joy shall be upon their heads;
\nthey shall obtain joy and gladness,
\nand sorrow and sighing shall flee away.<\/p>\n
