{"id":78336,"date":"2019-02-10T17:04:35","date_gmt":"2019-02-10T22:04:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=78336"},"modified":"2019-02-10T17:05:41","modified_gmt":"2019-02-10T22:05:41","slug":"ct-david-briggs-who-worries-about-hell-the-most","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=78336","title":{"rendered":"(CT) David Briggs&#8211;Who Worries About Hell the Most"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text\"><a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thearda.com\/newsearch.asp?searchterms=hell&amp;c=ABCDEFGHIJKLMNYZ\">Hell<\/a> matters to a lot of us.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text\">About half of Americans are <a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thearda.com\/Archive\/Files\/Codebooks\/FTHMAT11_CB.asp#V142\">absolutely sure of their belief in hell<\/a>, while the percentage who believe rises above two-thirds <a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thearda.com\/Archive\/Files\/Analysis\/GSS08PAN\/GSS08PAN_Var563_1.asp\">when some degrees of uncertainty are included.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"text\"><em>[Editor\u2019s note: Last year, a <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/lifewayresearch.com\/2018\/10\/17\/americans-theology-is-a-mix-of-orthodox-belief-and-shifting-opinions\/\">LifeWay Research survey<\/a> similarly found that just 45 percent of Americans agree hell is a real place. The Pew Research Center <a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pewforum.org\/2018\/08\/29\/the-religious-typology\/#group-profiles-the-highly-religious\">reported<\/a> that a vast majority of highly religious and somewhat religious Americans (at least 8 in 10) believe in hell, while barely any non-religious Americans do (fewer than 5%).
