{"id":81434,"date":"2019-05-13T07:00:15","date_gmt":"2019-05-13T11:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=81434"},"modified":"2019-05-13T19:28:48","modified_gmt":"2019-05-13T23:28:48","slug":"english-cathedrals-celebrate-8m-national-lottery-funding-boost","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=81434","title":{"rendered":"(C of E) English cathedrals celebrate \u00a38m National Lottery funding boost"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Four Church of England cathedrals have benefited from a cash injection of over \u00a38m to help them engage with their communities through imaginative outreach, arts, heritage and learning projects, thanks to The National Lottery Heritage Fund.<\/p>\n<p>Today Leicester, Lichfield, Newcastle and Worcester Cathedrals announce awards from The National Lottery Heritage Fund for a wide range of creative community-focussed projects, including bringing Worcester\u2019s 12th century undercroft into public use as an imaginative learning hub and new city venue, and creating a sacred space for all to enjoy in Newcastle\u2019s city centre.<\/p>\n<p>The news follows a huge international reaction to the fire at Notre Dame which showed something of the value of cathedrals to local and wider communities, as well as their vulnerability, and the need for securing long-term funding for repairs and restoration.
