{"id":81799,"date":"2019-05-23T08:15:10","date_gmt":"2019-05-23T12:15:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=81799"},"modified":"2019-05-23T08:41:20","modified_gmt":"2019-05-23T12:41:20","slug":"cen-c-of-e-bishops-discuss-brexit-and-iicsas-new-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=81799","title":{"rendered":"(CEN) C of E Bishops discuss Brexit and IICSA\u2019s new report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Brexit was on the agenda as the bishops discussed recent political developments and prayed for the nation at their recent House of Bishops meeting at Bishopthorpe Palace.<\/p>\n<p>The bishops discussed mission and ministry in covenant with the Methodist Church, financial priorities in Church funding over the next three years, and the ministry of confession.<\/p>\n<p>The bishops also spent time reviewing progress that has been made by the Living in Love and Faith working group. The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse\u2019s (IICSA) recently published report into the Church of England also received attention from the bishops who have additionally made a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Following the publication last week of the IICSA report into the Peter Ball and Chichester Diocese case studies, the bishops said they \u2018recognise that the publication of this report causes most hurt and concern to survivors themselves.
