{"id":826,"date":"2007-07-09T00:02:00","date_gmt":"2007-07-09T00:02:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/127.0.0.1\/site\/2017\/2\/1985\/church_of_england_synod_clearly_carries_motion_to_engage_positively_with_an\/"},"modified":"2007-07-09T00:02:00","modified_gmt":"2007-07-09T00:02:00","slug":"church_of_england_synod_clearly_carries_motion_to_engage_positively_with_an","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=826","title":{"rendered":"Church of England synod \u201cclearly carries\u201d\u009d motion engaging with Anglican Covenant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.anglican-mainstream.net\/?p=1862\">The Bishop of Rochester&#8217;s Speech is here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b>Update<\/b>: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thinkinganglicans.org.uk\/archives\/002499.html\">Simon Sarmiento<\/a> has the text of the carried motion:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8216;That this Synod:<\/p>\n<p>(a) affirm its willingness to engage positively with the unanimous recommendation of the Primates in February 2007 for a process designed to produce a covenant for the Anglican Communion;<\/p>\n<p>(b) note that such a process will only be concluded when any definitive text has been duly considered through the synodical processes of the provinces of the Communion; and<\/p>\n<p>(c) invite the Presidents, having consulted the House of Bishops and the Archbishops\u2019 Council, to agree the terms of a considered response to the draft from the Covenant Design Group for submission to the Anglican Communion Office by the end of the year.\u2019<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Bishop of Rochester&#8217;s Speech is here.
