{"id":83959,"date":"2019-07-20T16:02:28","date_gmt":"2019-07-20T20:02:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=83959"},"modified":"2019-07-20T15:25:10","modified_gmt":"2019-07-20T19:25:10","slug":"ct-canadian-anglicans-to-continue-same-sex-ceremonies-even-after-failed-vote","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=83959","title":{"rendered":"(CT) Canadian Anglicans to Continue Same-Sex Ceremonies, Even After Failed Vote"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Though the Anglican Church in Canada last week <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/canada\/article-anglican-church-of-canada-rejects-same-sex-marriage-amendment-will\/\">failed<\/a> to amend its canon to sanction same-sex marriages, in the wake of the narrow vote, dioceses have opted to continue with them anyway.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text\">The amendment, first passed in 2016, required a two-thirds majority vote among lay delegates, clergy, and bishops at two triennial general synods in a row.
