Blessed Lord, the only living and true God,
\nthe Creator and Preserver of all things,
\nWe live by you;
\nand our whole dependence is upon you,
\nfor all the good that we either have or hope for.
\nWe now desire to bless your name for those mercies,
\nwhich in so large a measure
\nyou have generously given us.<\/p>\n

Worthy are you, O Lord our God,
\nto receive all honor and glory,
\nall thanks and praise,
\nand love and obedience,
\nas in the courts of heaven,
\nso in all the assemblies of your servants upon earth;
\nfor you are great, and you do wondrous things;
\nyou are God alone.<\/p>\n

You have looked favorably on your land,
\nand you have dealt graciously with us.
\nInstead of giving us over to all the calamities that we feared,
\nyou have multiplied your mercies towards us,
\nfor which we are now called to solemnize a day of thanksgiving.<\/p>\n

How sweet and wonderful is it
\nto recount all the instances of your patience with us, and your blessings to us!<\/p>\n

O what shall we render to the Lord for all his benefits!
\nO let not our hearts be stingy towards you,
\nwhose hand has been so open and generous unto us.
\nBut do enlarge these hearts of ours,
\nand fill them with more love and thankfulness to the gracious Giver of all our good things.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
