{"id":88825,"date":"2020-01-24T08:00:51","date_gmt":"2020-01-24T13:00:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=88825"},"modified":"2020-01-24T08:58:35","modified_gmt":"2020-01-24T13:58:35","slug":"church-times-faith-leaders-call-for-unity-75-years-after-the-liberation-of-auschwitz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=88825","title":{"rendered":"(Church Times) Faith leaders call for unity, 75 years after the liberation of Auschwitz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz should be used \u201cto come before God in worship, conscious of our need for forgiveness, but committed to action that would seek the common flourishing of all\u201d, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/topics\/archbishop-of-canterbury\">Archbishop of Canterbury<\/a> has said.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement released this week, in advance of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/topics\/holocaust\">Holocaust<\/a> Memorial Day on Monday, Archbishop Welby said: \u201cThe Holocaust, the Shoah, remains a unique stain on the history of Europe, and a chilling reminder to me of how millennia of Christian anti-Jewish hatred could provide a seedbed for such evil.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Council of Christians and Jews (CCJ) has released a <a href=\"https:\/\/ctbi.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/A-prayer-for-use-by-Christians-on-HMD.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">prayer<\/a> for this year\u2019s Holocaust Memorial Day.
