It was ruled on Wednesday, however, that the amendments were out of order and could not be moved.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need you to acknowledge that you do not have the competence or the right to clear up your own mess,\u201d the ten survivors write. \u201cWe need independent people we can go to to report abuse and find support; people who are not part of the Church, and don\u2019t wear the same uniform that our abusers wore. We need you to use your power as a Synod to establish a properly funded scheme for support, compensation and redress for victims of church abuse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The existing motion, to be debated on Wednesday morning, endorses the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/topics\/archbishops-council\">Archbishops\u2019 Council<\/a>\u2019s response to the five recommendations made by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/topics\/independent-inquiry-into-child-sexual-abuse-iicsa\">Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse<\/a> (IICSA) in May (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/articles\/2019\/10-may\/news\/uk\/secrecy-and-prevarication-iicsa-damns-c-of-e-safeguarding-record\">News, 9 May 2019<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIs that all?\u201d the survivors ask. \u201cWe believe that you should go much further. . .
