{"id":97803,"date":"2020-12-21T18:12:55","date_gmt":"2020-12-21T23:12:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=97803"},"modified":"2020-12-21T18:15:31","modified_gmt":"2020-12-21T23:15:31","slug":"the-cathedral-that-collaborated-with-its-local-football-team-for-a-unique-carol-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=97803","title":{"rendered":"(C of E) The cathedral that collaborated with its local football team for a unique carol service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This year, Bradford Cathedral collaborated with their near neighbours, football side Bradford City, for an online service of readings by players and carols by the Cathedral choir.<\/p>\n<p>Nicknamed &#8216;the Bantams&#8217; because of the similarity of their team colours to the colourful tail plumage of the bird of the same name, Bradford City AFC were formed in 1903, around 16 years before the creation of the Diocese of Bradford thus predating Bradford Cathedral although the building dates back to the 11th century.<\/p>\n<p>Bradford currently play their football in League 2, having enjoyed a two-year spell in the Premier League in the late 90s.
