Latest on blog setup: Archives shaping up

An opportunity to give feedback on the T19 Archive pages… And don’t forget. Any questions or problems? Write us: T19elves@yahoo.com

I think we have the T19 Archives working pretty well now. (They now show only T19 entries, whereas before they were mixing up T19 and Stand Firm entries). Try clicking on the monthly archive links at the bottom of the right sidebar and let us know what you think.

Is the current arrangement clear? useful?

The page design is about as boring as can be, but we can worry about that later… 😉 Right now we’re aiming for content and functionality.

I don’t know if it is possible to include more info along with the title of and link to each post:
— post date?
— author? (e.g. Kendall or elves)
— a short excerpt?

If possible, would you want to see some or all of that information?

If it’s helpful to compare with old T19 Archives, here’s link for April 2007 archives from the old blog

If you can’t get CaNNet to come up, here’s the link to that archive in the Google Cache

Archives are looking really good. All the basics are there for searching in different ways to reflect the scatter-brained way I look for things. You can always tweak them later.

    Thanks very much.

Just a thought. Expanding the listings with author, extracts etc could make the whole thing less managable to look through, although these things would be useful. I don’t know how feasible it would be but is it possible for a small pane to pop up with these things in it as one’s cursor passes over the entry? Only if feasible technically and not too much work!

Glad to know this is looking good to some folks. Thanks for the feedback. It’s helpful.

Pageantmaster, your idea about popup with date/author is interesting.
Might try it out. Almost positive there’s no way we could get a short excerpt to pop up. Pretty sure those pop up descriptions (see the Blog info section on the sidebar) are limited to 100 characters.

As you will all notice now in the sidebar, we’ve now got parent categories listed on the sidebar, and a “Full Category Index.” It’s shaping up nicely. Now we move on to begin to tackle LINKS…

Links are looking really smart, hard-working elves.
