We’re keeping this post up top for awhile since it contains important information. Check for newer entries below. Also don’t miss what Kendall has written about the new site and his comment policy.
————
Hi everyone,
We’re excited to have the new T1:9 up and running. I wanted to mention that everyone who has an account at Stand Firm is ready to post comments here – just log in using your usual user name and password.
If you don’t have an account, click the “Register” link over on the right. Three important reminders:
1. You may register 100% anonymously if you wish, by creating a Yahoo!, HotMail, or similar account, and using that email address when you register here. A confirmation email will be sent to whatever address you provide – that’s why it has to be a real address.
2. The confirmation email that gets sent to you sometimes get caught in spam filters, so if you don’t receive it within a few minutes of registering, please check your junk mailbox.
3. There is a known problem with AOL users who attempt to register using the web browser AOL includes with their service. If you receive an error message telling you you’re not authorized to register, please use another web browser. I recommend downloading Firefox (it’s free). Log on to AOL as usual, quit their web browser, then use Firefox to complete your registration.
This is a big change for Kendall, the elves, and me, but I’ll be working hard to make the transition as smooth as possible for them, so please be patient!
– Greg Griffith
A HUGE thanks to Greg G. for all his help in getting the new T19 setup.
[And StandFirm friends, never fear, Greg has created VERY VERY secure pens for us elves. 🙂
We only are allowed to play over here, not on Stand Firm. The Commenatrix guards her territory very jealously! LOL! ;-)]
We are hoping that commenters can keep using their customary T19 blog names. It makes for greater “continuity” between the old & new blog, and for familiarity with who is who.
If your Stand Firm username is different from your old T19 username, please at least provide us with your old blog name that old T19 users will recognize, at least for a few days. Thanks.
Example:
This new blog rocks!
elf-girl [old T19 blog name = elfgirl]
I logged in and when I hit “submit” the screen came up with XML(?) text–very confusing. Since I am a true Luddite, can someone tell me what I did wrong?
sjengelhardt
Things look fine now after I commented. In the famous words of Emily Letella–“Nevermind.”

Hi, I signed in using my Stand Firm account name. I usually use my full name on titusonenine. How do I change my login name?
Congrats on the new site.
Paula,
You can go to the “Your Account” page and the username menu.
http://new.kendallharmon.net/wp-content/uploads/index.php/member/edit_userpass/
You can change your Screenname. It does NOT change your login information.
Alternately, you could add a signature line.
Hopefully this is helpful.
Just testing. Commenting seems to be working fine. I logged in using SF username and password. I’m using AOL 9SE and it seems to be working fine. Congrats on the new site.
the snarkster
Looks good. It will be very interesting to see how it handles the onslaught when the Lambeth invitation list is made public. 😉
Beautiful, clear, smoothe, fast–thank you, elves and all!
Down with Elves!
This change has been needed for awhile–thank you Dr. Harmon!
Fffft! PFffftt!! Testing, testing, one, two, three . . .
FEEEEEEEEELLInns – nuthin’ more-than FEEEEEEEELllinnns . . .
Yeah, I know – don’t quit my day job, and please use the $5 my mom gave me for lessons. 😉
WRT those cute, cuddly, Sarah-lovin’ elves – They _shouldn’t_ have to do quite as much work to keep everyone in line, what with thE JACKBOOTED TYRANNY OF ON-LINE REGISTRAT – uh, I mean, the (unfortunately) necessary security/anti-spam measures which should help to keep the comment boxes clean.
Ah, Greg, with T19 and SF now sharing some resources, don’t you think there is a risk of cookies entering the system … those elves you know … 😉
I like the new title heading. It’s like those graphics with the name Jesus white on black that show whether you are a Christian or not.
(8^)
Shiny new blog software — neat!
And the “Preview” button was sorely needed over on the old site.
In theory I should now have a signature line… let’s see if that works.
Hmm… no sig; maybe that hasn’t been enabled?
Awesome, man, awesome. Sorry, ECUSA – you can’t depend on T19 going down when the big news hits anymore.
My thanks to Greg (and the Elves) for enabling the transition and kudos to Kendall for deciding to make it.
I’m glad to see T19 institute a registration system.
#1: “We are hoping that commenters can keep using their customary T19 blog names.”
Kendall was expressing the hope in the first entry on the new site that people would use their real names unless there is a _strong_ reason to do otherwise. It would be nice to see that thought not dropped so quickly. (Note, for instance, that even Jim Naughton’s blogs are requiring submissions under real names.)
Mike Watson
Ross – I’ve enabled signatures. Testing them now…
Pardon me while I test my IE outside of the dreaded AOL! 😉
Testing — one, two, three . . .
Thanks, Greg — looks like it’s working.
The old blog would “linkify” your name to a URL you provided. This software seems to keep your URL and other information in your profile, but I don’t see an easy way to get from a user’s comment to their profile — am I missing something?
The reason I ask is that I like to build on Kendall’s request to use real identities if possible by providing a link to my personal web page, which contains more than any idly curious person would care to know about me. I’ve put such a link in my signature (I’ll reveal my old Unix roots by noting that I reflexively typed that as “.signature” the first time), but if there’s an easy “comment -> profile -> URL” path I can forego that.
Ross,
Actually, I don’t see the sig I created, or yours. are you seeing your sig?
Mike W, re: your #19. We’re all for real names. We did not mean our request for using old T19 blog names to supercede Kendall’s stated preference for real names. What we merely meant to say, is that if you are going to continue using a blog name, it would help if you used the same one you used over on old T19. That way we elves can spot the troublemakers more easily! LOL 😉
Ross — It looks like Signatures are now working. I can see your sig.
Also, hurray, there is now comment numbering! Very nice. As we’re able, we’ll play around a bit and try to post some pointers or info as to what is possible. We’re still learning though. Hopefully we can stay half a step ahead of the unwashed masses.
Testing, testing.
23 & 24, re: signatures —
In addition to the global enabling of signatures that Greg seems to have done, it looks like there is a per-user option under “Control Panel Home -> Edit Preferences,” called “Display member signatures in entries.” I’m not sure what the default is, but it looks like individual users can elect whether or not they want to see signatures. Maybe Greg has that turned off?
Checking to see if I finally got this right……
This is a test, this is only a test.
Ross,
That’s the ticket. That checkbox allows users to choose whether or not other users’ sigs are displayed. It’s off by default… let me see if I can turn them all on by default.
Testing a few HTML tags for effectiveness. And we even have Smileys!!!! And a preview feature and no more math!!!!! YAY!!!!! 😛 :cheese:
Welcome to the Standfirm server farm, Kendall!
Mahvelous, simply mahvelous!
Just testing. And Ross, I enjoyed following the link in your sig and putting a “face” — and some hair — ) to your words. I don’t have a web page …. but my full name is Sherri Butler.
Nice to see T19 and SF in communion together. Now we know what Greg’s been up to. Nice one.
Very promising, and all the toys, except we can’t see who’s logged in like the other place. Looks like follow up emails as well.
Good sailing
🙄
No math; life is good.
 Nice smileys, too.
Congratulations on the new look and easier-to-read format.
I vote for the return of an optional math question. 😆
Super! Thank you Greg and company.
This is super! Thanks to all for your hard work. 🙂
Earlier today the members online were displayed. Now I don’t see them. Has this feature been dropped or is the problem on my end?
I think it is only on the main page/home page. I saw it just now.
But how do I change the password?
Tom Rightmyer trightmy@juno.com
Just testing and checking in on The NEW and IMPROVED.
😛 Why do I get the old fashion smiley when I click on 😛 I want to get the pretty ones…..please help….what am I doing wrong…
oops – it works…..luv it….
I guess we use the search facility on archived material like the SF site here rather than the catalogue system of the old one.
Pageantmaster, the answer to your question re: searches and categories is probably Both/And. We are just learning how to set up categories and have started to enter some key categories.
All of today’s posts are now categorized. The categories are not yet showing up in the post or in the sidebar of the blog. They do, however show up when you click on Advanced search.
http://new.kendallharmon.net/wp-content/uploads/index.php/search/
Make sure to choose the weblog “Titusonenine”
You can then choose from any of the categories we have set up.
Note that the search window does not make any distinctions between parent & sub-categories.
I.E. “Anglican” is a parent category.
“Lambeth 2008” is a sub-category.
In the search window they look the same — everything is alphabetical, not hierarchical. Perhaps that is better.
One new category we have created which we hope will be particularly helpful is what we’re calling a “Primary Source” category for statements, letters, official reports from Anglican / Episcopal leaders and bodies.
Thus you would find Abp. Akinola’s statement in that category. But not a news article about his statement. We want to make it easier to find original statements / letters / communiques / reports, etc.
Try out a few searches and let us know what you all think.
Thanks
Thanks I checked out a couple of searches and it is very good. This is going to be a Rolls of a site, as the gold standard should be.
Many thanks
Greek, Hebrew and a search-for-word facility! All this, and Heaven too …
Like the look…glad to see that you will be likely to withstand higher traffic…
The title page is MUCH better, very classy!!
Grannie Gloria 🙄
Kendall, Greg G., elves, et. al. – congratulations on the new T 1:9 look.
Bob ;-P
Huzzah! I made it through!
Glad to see it John4woman. We’ve been able to help a few commenters with registration and login issues. For any of you still having problems, feel free to let us know.
One heads up: I (elfgirl) am going to be offline most of Wednesday. I had scheduled a bunch of work meetings before I knew the blog switchover was going to take place.
If our response time tomorrow is slow, that’s why. I’ll likely be online in the evening for awhile.
It seems as though I have found my way.
Thanks to all for this classroom space.

This is a test.
The user formerly known as “M D”
Looks good.
I wonder if it would be possible to get an easy PDA site? or feed or whatever it’s called.
William, feeds are there. Both RSS and Atom, assuming that’s what you mean. Look for the two little orange & blue icons below the calendar in the right hand menu box.
RSS:
http://kendallharmon.net/t19/index.php/t19/rss_2.0
Atom:
http://kendallharmon.net/t19/index.php/t19/atom
I subscribed to the RSS feed in bloglines several hours ago and it is working beautifully so far.
We’ve asked Greg whether there is a feed available for comments. Stay tuned on that.
Lots more features to roll out in the days ahead, I’m sure.
So far it looks as if about 130 commenters have registered today. Maybe 25-30 of those are still listed as pending.
We’ve figured out how to help folks stuck in pending purgatory. If you are one of them … i.e. you’ve registered but haven’t gotten a confirmation e-mail, e-mail us:
T19elves@yahoo.com
We’ll be glad to try and help tomorrow.
We also can probably help if you are a long-time Stand Firm user but have forgotten your password, etc. or some other problem.
Give us a shout as needed.
Congratulations and good luck on your new site. I have registered under my StandFirm name.
(The contributor formerly known as JM on T-19 is now in the witness protection program.)
Hey, fuhggheddaboudit! Yaknowwhuddamean?
Excellent stuff! Great new design! Congrats to all involved!
Dear Elves
Is there a way of altering your screen name without re-registering?
Let me add my congrats too. Nice header font…
#60, Derek. Yes.
Once you are logged in with your regular username & password, go into the Your Account page.
There is a username/password choice on the left hand side.
Here’s the link:
http://new.kendallharmon.net/wp-content/uploads/index.php/member/edit_userpass/
You’ll see the second choice there is to change your screen name.
Your log in info & password remain unchanged. But how your name is displayed on the blog will change.
Alternately, you could add a signature line something like (T19 blogname = *****)
Congrats. The new site looks great.
You even brought the smell of cookies…..
This is great Greg! I like the New TitusOneNine better than the TitusOneNine Classic. 🙂

It just takes some of us longer than others…. Here’s what finally worked for me (thanks Greg & ElfGirl)!
1) Cleared my privacy data in firefox (cache & cookies), but to no avail.
2) Cleared system cache in my personal firewall, which seemed to help.
3) Logged in with “auto-login” and “show user name…” options UNSELECTED. I can’t login with those options selected.
I think that 3rd step was the key for me. Hope that helps.

Question – why do I keep getting e-mails everytime someone posts on this site or SF site…? I went to my registration and cleared all the e-mail boxes, hoping this would indicate that I didn’t want them, but to no avail………help
whoo hoo! many thanks, kendall and elves, for all you do. (and i’m very glad to be free of the Dreaded Math Question!)
Dee,
You’re getting messages because both blogs are run on the same system. I’m trying to sort them out (whatever is causing it is also causing the list of visitors at both sites to be identical, and not properly segregated).
You can manage your email subscriptions by going to your control panel under “Subscription Manager” and unchecking the appropriate boxes.
I am going to try to comment just as an experiment — there have been too many changes made for me to understand…
This is a test comment from Elf Lady.
It appears to have worked for me as well
This is just a test comment.
note to elves – the URL formatting specified in “Formatting help” gets confused if you use the URL as the name of your link: [url=http://www.nameoflink.com]www.nameoflink.com[/url]
Justin, we are trying to discourage posting of full links as some are too long for the comment window and mess up the formatting (in Internet Explorer, the links truncate in Firefox). So, generally we’d rather folks come up with a short title for the link rather than just posting the URL.
Hope that helps. E-mail us if you’re still confused or have an alternate proposal as to how this could be clearer. Thanks for the feedback. We always appreciate it!
Ah Justin, a follow-up. We just saw your comment about Ancient Faith radio and see the problem you encountered. In your case, you can just post the link in your comment text. The software will automatically make it a URL. As long as it’s short, that’s just fine with us. You don’t need to use the url tags in the square brackets. We’ve fixed your comment.
Thanks, I understand. I’m just pointing out that in the example above, the auto-formatter actually adds “http://” to the “name of link” portion of the formatted URL. So for example, if someone wanted to post a link to an article on Christianity Today’s website, they might put the whole url in square brackets with the url= syntax and put “www.christianitytoday.com” as the name of the link, in which case it would end up formatting it wrong and very long.
Regardless, not a big deal and at least I see how it works now, so I won’t make that mistake. Thanks for your help.
Thanks!
Falls Farm Church
Let me introduce you to the Falls Farm Church in Perth Western Australia. It is a pleasant, little place in a lovely suburb some twenty kilometres to the east of Perth in the Darling Ranges. Until last month it was the home church for about 13 -14 rather elderly souls who felt that they wished to worship according to what they had been taught in their younger, formative years. It was a place where the restless change into more modern ideas had little chance of any great success but to over come this fault it had a depth of sincerity in its worshipers that many a modern, go-ahead church would envy.
What method of worship did they prefer? You and I know it as the 1662 Prayer Book. Why did they prefer the 1662 to the 1928 version? Because, as older people and very set in their ways, they remembered that the 1662 version was the one they had experienced as children and young adults. Besides, the spread of the newer 1928 Prayer Book took until nearly 1950 to become common throughout Australia and so the Falls Farm group – as individuals – grew up knowing the older 1662 version. Even our two converts from the Roman Catholic church were happy about the 1662 service and they enjoyed attending on a regular basis. So there you have it: a quiet, little church, a sufficiently happy congregation.without the urge to cause startling growth in their group but with a sincerity which would be the envy of many younger people.
Just one more point before I push on with my story. Due to the simple, old-fashioned matter of administration within the greater church the congregation asked the incoming, appointed priest to use the 1662 Prayer Book due to the background and nature of the individuals composing our group. He was happy enough to do so even though he had a preference for the establishment’s wishes which lay with the 1928 Prayer Book.
Then it happened! The Anglo-Catholic Church accepted a priest from the Anglican Church and – very, very quickly – made him a bishop. He was appointed to look after Western Australia and, inevitably, his eyes turned to Falls Farm and its terribly old-fashioned form of service. He visited Falls Farm and talked to us for nearly an hour about the need for change, the need for growth and the need for solidity in establishment. He left us after his talk requesting that we consider change and to let him know whether we still wanted the 1662 Prayer Book or not. Imagine the storm of confusion and argument that caused in those old souls!.
So the congregation had a meeting the following week. I won’t bore you with the details but the resolution of the meeting was : Votes for the 1662 Prayer Book 100%. Votes for the 1928 Prayer Book 0%. The details were quickly embodied in a polite letter and passed on to the bishop by the chairman of the meeting.
You are now interested in the bishop’s response – as we were!
He returned to the church and spoke to us again. This time it was not a meeting. It was a matter of the bishop exerting his fourth aim of duty. What is his fourth aim? Why not ask him yourself? I’m sure he would be glad to tell you. Apart from the mass of words which did not address what we said to him, he told us that we would have to turn onto the 1928 Prayer Book and the Diocesan Rite as from the following Sunday. If we did not then he would withdraw the priest and we could fend for ourselves. The blame for the sorry affair according to him was squarely on our shoulders.
Is the church interested in the souls of a few elderly people nearly all of whom are in their late seventies and eighties? May we continue as Anglicans and use an Anglican form of worship? That was our upbringing! Must we now desert that?
Please show us what to do!
testing…
I will not tell who I am, that I know is for the Lord (for he was in the desert UNTIL THE LORD revealed him to Israel). And it does not matter who I am. I am dust and he is God. He must increase and i will decrease (though I should never count myself as anything to begin with). But These are the last days, and Messiah is coming to rapture His beloves from the earth (man knows the day or hour but God Himself). And He shall judge the living and the dead, both christian and the lost for the deeds they did in this body whether good or evil (but the justified in Christ shall come into condemnation for they have past from death into life already). But before that Great and Dreadful Day, God shall send His messanger to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to the knowledge of the just. That moment that Elijah should stand up and be revealed is not now at this very moment. But “Elijah” (because it is only a messanger in the power and spirit of Elijah, not the OT prophet himself). God is preparing that person. That person is growing in character and learning more of the word of God, for “he” shall restore the TRUE doctrines back to the church. And “he” shall be sent also to the lost sheep of Israel (his main calling, for there IS a remnant to be saved after the time of the full of the gentiles has come in).Anyhow, my dear brothers and sisters in Christ, I know this perason and tell you ‘he” is here on earth, a humble person, not noble or rich or good looking. Remember what the word says about God choosing the lowly and foolish things of this world to confound the wise; for the “foolishness” of God is greater than the “wisdom” of this world. When he is revealed, he shall not be in a kings house, just as Christ said John the Baptizer was not. I tell you this not becasue I am of any real importance (except that which God considers me with because He is good:I am only worthy as I am in Christ) but only because gos tells us in Malachi “Behold, I send you Elijah”. See, ‘behold’ means to look on with intensity, to search for to gaze at. He expects us to “look”
for this messanger because “he” shall tell us what Christ shall say through “him” (just as we must heed the pastors and evangelists, teachers, etc… He sends now). If you will not acknowledge this “man” is from God, you will not believe the word “he” brings: “Christ is now returning! Repent! Stop doing evil. Do good and live.” Well, “he” is alive now and to be revealed when God sees fit. God bless you. Elijah is nothing, but God is all in all. Amen! Come Lord Jesus.
My dear friends. The Lord our God is One. Not many. Please stop praying to mary and other dead saints. Only God is to be prayed to. And there is One Intercessor, the ‘Man’ Jesus Christ (says says the Word). There is no one through whom you may come to the Father except through Jesus Christ. All others before and after Him are thieves, but HE is the True Sheppard. How can you think to pray to a man or woman that is not Divine, and is dead, in the grave. They can not speak or breathe, my friends. Christ is the only One Who was dead but LIVES FOREVER MORE! He lives to forever make intercession for you to God the Father. So, do not be decieved by the false teachers who claim mary can help you. Nor any other saint. But put your faith in God, and He shall make your way prosperous. ABOVE ALL!!! READ THE BIBLE FOR YOURSELF!!! False teachers can decieve you if you do not know the true teachings of God. Is it better to obey man or God? Man is like the grass of the field, the flower falls and dies, but the word of the Lord remains forever.
Mary was a human, subject to Christ just as you and I. She HERSELF said “I am the servant of the Lord. Let it be as you have said”. She herself claimed in her song of praise to him that she needed to be saved along with all of Israel. Do not be decieved. Mary is NOT the mother of heaven. She is not equal to Christ, and she can not help nor save you. “I will look to the hills from where my help comes from, my help comes from the LORD, THE MAKER OF HEAVEN AND OF EARTH”. And remember, in Isaiah, He says He will not share His glory with any other. If mary is not God, then do not worship or praise her as though she were. Fear God and turn from evil, for He has said, “YOU SHALL HAVE NO OTHER gODS BEFORE ME. yOU SHALL NOT CREATE OR BOW DOWN (OR PRAY TO) AN GRAVEN IMAGE FOR i THE LORD AM A JEALOUS GOD” and “IT IS A FEARFUL THING TO FALL INTO THE HANDS OF AN ANGRY GOD!” I love you in Christ and believe for the eyes of your understanding to be lightened. God bless you. Come Lord Jesus.

Not sure I’ll make it to see DioSC in ACNA, but I’ll pray for it to occur.
