Transitioning the Blog to Christmas

At least until the morning of December 26th, we will shift our focus exclusively to Christmas. Let me take this opportunity to wish all blog readers and participants and their families a very joyous time of celebration with friends and family–KSH.

    Kendall+,
Thank you for all your hard work with this ‘blog’ (It’s so much more!) and returning wishes for a Blessed Christmas-tide for you and your family.

    To all on T1:9:
May the joy of this year’s celebration of the incarnation of our Great God and Savior Jesus the Christ fill your hearts and homes with the peace that passes understanding throughout Christmas, Epiphany and throughout the year.

May God richly bless you with His love and goodness.

Information is power, Kendall, and by putting information before people you empower them. But you go beyond this narrow function to provide us, in addition, with material for spiritual reflection, food for soul as well as information for the mind. God bless your ministry.

In the past you have allowed us on this site to say how we are spending the feast. Last night we had a full church at the 6 pm children’s Christmas Eve Mass and a wonderfully joyful atmosphere. At Midnight Mass the choir sang a Josquin des Pres setting, rather complicated I thought, and then Poulenc. Today (thank goodness) it is Byrd, my favourite. For lunch I will have a dozen or so people from the parish, who would otherwise be on their own. I will do the cooking myself. I say this not to blag but in fact to say that I have suddenly become aware of getting older: the pressure of the cooking in addition to the 11.30 am Sung Mass later this morning is a problem, not to mention the creakiness of arthritis as I stand at sink and stove. No doubt all you Moms out there (many of you my age, or older) would take it all in your stride.

This Christmas I have been so aware of teamwork and good will in the parish. May it last, take deep root and flourish, so that we can witness more readily to our Savior. God bless us one and all.

  9. Br. Michael says:

John 1:1-14 ESV John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. … 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

    Amen, Amen.

Kendall – Thank you for maintaining this site. You put a lot of work into presenting us with a wide range of interesting and important subjects, along with keeping an atmosphere of civility within which we can exchange our thoughts. A Blessed XMAS to you and to all.

    Rob,
I have a friend on another blog/forum who abbreviates Christmas as “XPmas”. I find it an interesting take on the idea.

May each of the 12 days bring you blessings.
