Muslim population 'rising 10 times faster than rest of society' in Britain

The Muslim population in Britain has grown by more than 500,000 to 2.4 million in just four years, according to official research collated for The Times.

The population multiplied 10 times faster than the rest of society, the research by the Office for National Statistics reveals. In the same period the number of Christians in the country fell by more than 2 million.

Experts said that the increase was attributable to immigration, a higher birthrate and conversions to Islam during the period of 2004-2008, when the data was gathered. They said that it also suggested a growing willingness among believers to describe themselves as Muslims because the western reaction to war and terrorism had strengthened their sense of identity.

that would seem to indicate that there is a dramatic shift taking place in England.

That’s what happens to empires: they end up broke, socialist and populated by their enemies. The US will be no exception.

Mark Steyn, among others, has been all over this issue for years. The sun is really setting on the Europe we once knew. 🙁

Lebanon had a Christian majority and a muslim minority just after World War II.

High rates of muslim child-birth and muslim violence, forcing non-muslims to flee Lebanon, have changed that situation.

The difference is the “correctness” of tolerance and toleration, within the sub-cultures. At least in the US, we are so dedicated to not appearing to be, in any way, racist or religiously bigoted, that “Christian society” falls all over itself to accept Islam as a “good friend.”. Muslims, on the other hand, seem to feel no such need to indoctrinate tolerance or toleration into their next generation. They are out to conquer the world – – it simply must be made to be Islam, either by conversion or by act of force – – and they seem to see it as the destiny of their faith.

Why do we not require a Moslim country to povide a church for every mosque in this country. Faulure to do so would allow us to dismantle a mosque a month. Man, would I love that!

  7. Passing By says:

“Muhammad Abdul Bari, general secretary of the Muslim Council of Britain, predicted that the number of mosques in Britain would multiply from the present 1,600 in line with the rising Islamic population. He said the greater platform that Muslims would command in the future should not be perceived as a threat to the rest of society.

“We each have our own set of beliefs. This should really be a source of celebration rather than fear as long as we all clearly understand that we must abide by the laws of this country regardless of the faith we belong to,” he said.”

Uh-huh. Sounds a lot like TEC until the liberals assimilated the majority.

The threat that I’m concerned the most about…..even though I don’t live there, but members of my extended family still do…..is the effect this is having on Wales and the traditional Welsh culture. I would expect that this is also true in Scotland.

People are not born Muslim or Christian. This is the post Christian era in Western Europe and Scandinavia. Many of the Churches are almost empty with the state and tourists keeping the building maintained. Many other Churches are now book stores and cafes. Where there is Spiritual life there is meaning and purpose. Where there is not, declining birthrate. It’s a shame to see all the flags for countries that contain a cross that no longer has any meaning for its citizens.

The future belongs to those who show up. Western Europeans are not showing up.

Dcn Dale — I just want to make a brief comment on your first statement; I agree with the rest of what you said. You are thinking like a Westerner; in the Middle East, you don’t separate religion and family. That is entirely counter-culture. If you are born into a Christian family, you are a Christian, culturally and socially. Same goes for being a Muslim. Whether you practice your religion or not is another matter entirely. Muslims immigrating to the West have brought this idea (back) into Europe, and for a number of them, they become MORE devoted to their religion b/c it’s the one thing that’s familiar in a sea of unfamiliar paganism. And in Islam, if you are born into a Muslim family, you are Muslim. If you abandon your faith, you are murtadd and can be justifiably killed under the laws of Islam. We see it happen all the time over here.

    #11 WanderingTexan,
“You are thinking like a Westerner; in the Middle East, you don’t separate religion and family.” I agree with this statement but being a “cultural Christian” is a meaningless term. That carries about as much weight as someone being Anglican because they are British. Where the Gospel is being preached in its truth and purity, it can and does compete with the “Cultural Faith of the Muslims”. It just seems like the biblical idea to be fruitful and multiply is linked to a healthy spiritual life. When life loses its meaning, virility and fertility seem to go with it. I believe that if Western Europeans were living the Christian life, that the Muslims would at least respect (and perhaps be attracted to) that more than the paganism they see being lived out in front of them. When we traveled there, we learned not to stay in the big cities on the weekends since the residents partied the entire night away and we could not sleep. I think the motto there is, “If that’s all there is, let’s break out the booze and have a ball”. If Western Europe and Scandinavia are not re evangelized, they will be overrun and dominated by immigrants. No amount of “immigration reform” will help them at this point. I’ve talked with many Western Europeans and Scandinavians and they think the recent upturn in birthrate is a positive sign after so many years of birth decline. What they don’t seem to understand is that the upturn is the result of Muslim births.
