I imagine the vote of this one is more contentious.

    Impressive #’s.

  4. WeCanChoose says:

    Curious about those who abstained!

So which are the “bodies” to which this resolution refers? The House of Bishops? House of Delegates? TEC itself?

(all bodies of the Episcopal Church that have assented to actions contrary to Holy Scripture, the doctrine, discipline and worship of Christ as this Church has received them, the resolutions of the Lambeth Conference which have expressed the mind of the Communion, the Book of Common Prayer and our Constitution and Canons…)

I’m curious why Wood+ and Sturdy+ moved for a vote by Orders, knowing the effect it could have on the election in the Dio of Upper SC. Seems pretty mean-spirited, imho.

#6, Simply Amazed – for those not in the loop, could you please explain why this would affect the election in the Dio of Upper SC?

    Simply Amazed,

The weight and seriousness of Res 2 dictated to me a gravity that required more than an anonymous push of a button. What you are insinuating in your post is without merit and quite irresponsible.

As for the consequences for certain individuals I am in no way responsible for which of the three options presented to them (yes, no, abstain) they chose to go with.

In the future, if you are curious why I did something pick up the phone, call Trinity Church, Myrtle Beach and ask to speak with me. A phone call will likely provide you with more information while simultaneously avoiding impuning someone’s character unnecessarily.

    Much love,
    Rob Sturdy

You’re a better man than I am, Rob Sturdy, though anyone who knows us knows that already. Had you not responded to our anonymous accuser I would not have.
Simply Amazed, I had intended to request a vote by orders on this resolution from the day it was presented over a month ago. I had previously spoken with the Chancellor about my intention and I told him again this morning during registration. The matter was far too important, in my opinion, to have anonymous voting. That simple. Honestly, I was not, and am not, overly concerned with the election in the DUSC as this was a DSC matter and we’re grown men with convictions that we ought not be ashamed of.
Finally, I would echo my friend, Rob’s, invitation: a simple phone call would have afforded you the opportunity – and me the courtesy – of an answer.
    In Christ,
    Steve Wood
