As a piece of news reporting this is rather poor. Quotations only from those who agree with the author’s view. Moral judgments made – misogyny and homophobia – without any suggestion that there may be other moral judgments to be reported. Conclusions drawn with no evidence (viz. the ABC is resigning because he wants to be the old loveable liberal Rowan again).

It’s a partisan puff piece that reflects only the views of the TEC leadership. A better piece of journalism would at least acknowledge what other voices in the story are saying.

A moronic article and a complete waste of time.

The New Yorker has certainly declined if this be its average reporting.

I don’t have the hard copy, but I suspect this is from one of the small observational pieces that the New Yorker places before the major articles. I don’t think it is intended as new reporting. It’s more a “Talk of the Town”-type piece.
