I saw one of the panel on Special Report, Fox News, on Wednesday with a large cross of ashes on her forehead (Mollie Hemingway, who is Lutheran). I presume they would permit a male Jewish commentator to wear a yarmulke or a Sikh man to wear a turban — or an observant Jewish woman, a wig, or a Muslim woman, a hijab.
As an American, I’ve wondered for years how a nation with an established Church can be so hostile to public displays of Christian faith. It’s doubly curious that the established Broadcaster is amongst the leaders of that hostility.
Then again, ponder the meaning of a Roman Catholic Member of Parliament from the Scottish National Party…
