Kendall Harmon of Orkin Pest Control will present a program on pests.
—The Mississippi Star-Herald. It is not yours truly of course, but I can never get used to the fact that in a country of more than 300 million people there will be more than one person with the same first and last name. The John Smiths out there will no doubt extend no sympathy–KSH.
Statistically, there are 9 people in the US with the name Kendall Harmon! If you are interested try the How Many of Me site:
http://howmanyofme.com/search/
#1 I tried that Brian from T19 and this was the result:
[blockquote]There are 0 people in the U.S. with the last name Pageantmaster.
This name is not found in our database, this means the name is relatively uncommon.[/blockquote]
Ho hum.
As I always thought, but it still is surprising to find out: There are 0 persons in the US with my first name: Rolin.
Come to think of it, that means I don’t exist.
I did find out earlier this year that my name is common in France.

I have come across the Rolin-Pinns.
My name is hideously common – first and last. Six in the Baton Rouge phone book. I have a couple times received phone calls for one of the others. Am I an elementary school principal? No ma’am you want one of the others. Really? You worked with one of them? Waste water treatment for the city. How about that!
I think we should send the Orkin man to 815 …
“Kendall Harmon…will present a program on pests”
Kendall: In covering ECUSA, you “present a program on pests” every day.
Kendall,
At least your shadow is out getting the enemy.
I was shot to death a couple of weeks ago in a Madera, CA, courtroom with knives in hand trying to get the judge.

Well, you can learn something new every day watching this blog and others like it. I checked out the HowManyOfME.com site and discovered that there are 216 David Handy’s in the U.S. And David is the 7th most common first name in this country.
But I once had the strange experience of living in a place where there was someone else who not only shared my first and last names, but my middle initial (A.) as well, and who was an ordained minister to boot (although he was a Methodist). I mean, what are the chances of there being another “the Rev. David A. Handy?” And for him to live in the same city? This was when I lived in the Albany, NY area. Several times a year I’d get mail that was meant for him. Amusingly, it was often official United Methodist Church mail. I guess those Methodist clergy just keep moving around so often even their headquarters can’t keep up with them (grin).
But as we all know, you are one of a kind, Kendall+.

I had to suffer for about ten years during the wild adolescence and young adulthood of another Kevin Babb, about ten years younger than me, who lived about fifteen miles away from me, but in the same county. The “other” Kevin Babb frequently excited the interest of local law enforcement for relatively minor, but persistent, offense. My collegues always informed me when the bailiff outside Warrant Court was issuing the customary three-times cry for “Kevin Babb!….Kevin Babb!…Kevin Babb!….” before my alter ego was convicted of some crime in absentia.
Fortunately, as both Kevin Babb-2 and I have gotten older, we seem to have settled down considerably.
According to the program, 72 Kevin Babbs in the U.S. My daughter Helen, interestingly, is almost exactly the same–71.
I also have in this area of Charleston another Elizabeth C. Harmon who happened to go to the same ENT dr. that I was referred to ( I was going to get rid of the dangling preposition but I decided to leave it there so everyone would know that I am just a normal woman married to a low-key kind of guy 🙂 ). When they started asking me some unusual questions we had to resort to birthdates to make sure they had the right Elizabeth C Harmon!
ah huh! my maiden name is not to be found….though I personally know that there are 4 brothers with it at this present time!
Now this is a hoot.
According to the howmanyofme webpage:
[blockquote]# There are 4,015,921 people in the U.S. with the first name Michael.
# Statistically the 4th most popular first name.[/blockquote]
Unfortunately, according to the same page, there are zero people with my last name in the U.S. So my family doesn’t exist. Think anyone will notice? Do we still have to pay taxes?
My name is Jason Miller, and I am a relatively young (35) priest.
Jason Miller was the name of the actor who played the young priest in the Exorcist. Ooooooooo…
#15: Even creepier, that film came out in 1973.
A conincidence? I think not.

Nice try, Kendall, but you’re outed. We’ve always known this site as ‘Orc Pest Control’. You’ll need a better cover!
I’ve just discovered ‘There are 0 people in the U.S. named Barack Obama’. Evidently the whole thing is a cunning plot by Karl Rove (‘There are 0 people in the U.S. named Karl Rove’).
The Gordians (318 in Southeast Utah)
#16–creepier yet, I have no idea who you are and you know what year I was born…oh, yeah, I said I was 35…do the math…but it freaked me out for a second!
The site says that 6 people have the name ‘Jesus Christ’ in the U.S.
How can we be sure that Kendall “The Exterminator” Harmon and Kendall “The Canon Theologian” Harmon aren’t the same person? Have you ever seen them both in the same place?
There are 163 of me but 0 of my wife; that includes both her married and maiden name.
#11, At least one night of my misspent youth was spent in a rather bleak and uncomfortable tax payer funded facility with limited egress privileges. After I checked out I was given my effects, which turned out to be the effects of another guest who had the same first name, middle name, and last name as I did, with the exception of a single letter in the last name. I sometimes wonder how he ended up.
Interesting, because my father has a friend named Ken Harmon. If I recall correctly, he’s a priest formerly of TEC, a licensed therapist and spiritual director, and now a lay member of the Reformed Episcopal Church.
My dad had a similar shadow, the same age , same middle initial, and their social security numbers were only one or two digits different. Also a bit of a rogue, several times women called my mom to tell them they were “with your husband right now.” Luckily for my dad, he was always either sitting right there or she had put him on the ship for a Navy weekend herself. Eventually the shadow was murdered by a jealous husband, and my grandmother got flowers in sympathy.
