BBC: Bishops raise homosexuality issue

Anglican bishops have been discussing Bible teachings on homosexuality at the Lambeth Conference in Canterbury.

The debate took place among a group of about 40 bishops, but there was no formal resolution on an issue which has frustrated Church traditionalists.

The subject has driven the Communion to the brink of a permanent split.

Members of the Lesbian and Gay Christian movement held a protest and unfurled a banner outside a sports hall where the delegates were meeting.

++Williams will never get a single agreed on view about homosexuality. There are two views and they are diameteric opposites. If you accept one you lose about four million Anglicans with lots of money, if you accept the other you lose abouy fourty-four milllion who have little money Anglicans. Either way you split the communion. Christ had quite a bit to say about sin the rich and the poor, reread those passages and decide.

Baruch–“Show me the money”–Jerry Maguire; oops I meant Rowan Williams.

David, another saying “Every man has his price.”

Not to decide is to decide. Witness the veracity of this aphorism in Rown Williams actions whatever his words may have seemed to say.

Er…Lambeth Conference 1998: Resolution 1.10 Human Sexuality IS the existing resolution. That TEC and others can willfully act contrary to that resolution with impunity is, I believe, what has “frustrated Church traditionalists.”

    Baruch,
There was an agreement — at the last Lambeth:
    Resolution 1.10
Even the TEC signed off on it, and then promplty ignored it upon returning home!
