I thought I “understood it” in the 1970’s. Ha. I did, in my way of understanding at that time. But I have to admit, there was a part of me even then that was anxious for time to make me bolder. And now here I am, amazed at the power of those words again. Thank you for posting it.
this is better than the Dixie Chicks for sure. but the studio recording on their untitled 1975 album is better IMO, Stevie’s voice was a good bit younger. Hard to believe, but this live performance dates (I’m pretty sure) to 1993 when they reunited after a long break.
Sorry to all the Dixie Chicks fans out there, but from where I sit this version is still the best.
Time has been gentle with Stevie Nicks and her wonderful voice. Better than ever.
This is not in any way meant to denigrate the guitar playing, in fact it’s quite good, but it’s not hard to discern the instrument that God created.
