“The 700 renegade churches, mostly from the U.S., had already expressed their displeasure by placing themselves under the jurisdiction of Anglican leaders in vast, self-governing foreign provinces.” LA TIMES

Mostly from the US but also CANADA. Seems New World geography still is difficult for the Telegraph, huh? ;>)

I watched the service in Wheaton online. High enthusiasm, though a chaotic liturgy (with peculiar music).

I was amazed to hear at communion that “non-alcoholic wine” would be available for communicants who selected it. Not only is the term disrespectful of the consecrated elements, but unfermented grape juice is not valid matter for the sacrament.

The procession, with its odd assortment of ladies in vestments, religious in Roman canonicals, evangelicals in suits did not give one confidence that unity would be terribly enduring.

I hope to be proved wrong.
