I rejoice to say we talked for about twenty minutes on the phone in the last week. He was ready to cross over, and I rejoice that the trumpet sounds for him on the other side–KSH.

Sorry to hear about Chip, Kendall. Well, no more ailing.. Rev. 21:2-7 . God bless all his efforts to build up the Kingdom of God, which he did. The Lord bless and care for his family.
Here’s a YouTube video of Chip talking about his faith and the awareness of his mortality, taken August 29th, as an interview for a local non-denom congregation. A four minute edited version played at the church. This is the longer unedited version, including the snoring dog…

I moved to Durham about the time Chip left St. Stephen’s and did not meet him. He served as interim at St. John’s, Glyndon, MD, where my father was rector 1952-66, the parish that sponsored me for ordination. Chip was by all accounts a priest of great integrity and vision, and we are all diminished by his death.
