ENS: House of Deputies president calls for attention to church's governance

Bonnie Anderson, president of the House of Deputies, plans to appoint a committee on church governance and polity “to examine and explain the history, theology, political structure and practical realities of the ways in which we believe God calls us to govern the [Episcopal] Church.”

In a September 14 letter to General Convention deputies and first alternative deputies, Anderson said that after the July 8-17 General Convention meeting “it makes little sense to speak of governance and mission as two different things.”

“Our church is able to enlist the energy and talent of every member in building God’s kingdom precisely because we make room for the Spirit-seeking wisdom of all orders of ministry in the governance of our church,” she said.

“I urge you to remember that deputies are deputies even when General Convention is not in session. Please remain involved in the life of your congregation and your diocese, and don’t hesitate to inform me of any developments you find significant.”

When the Star Chamber is complete, saving money by using the internet instead of traveling to exotic places, we will be able to convict more people of no-ubuntu-ism more efficiently – thereby lowering greenhouse emissions if we don’t talk too much. This will provide more money for the legal fund to continue our efforts at evangelism by lawsuit.

Please be on the look out for actual conservatives and people who adhere to a Communion-wide view of matters. These are most dangerous. List them so appropriate measures can be take. Children may be valuable in this search for insurgents. Just don’t spend too much on the candy. Times are tight.

Now THAT was really funny, DWS. Thanks… 🙂

In ANY 501c3, the authority of an elected official exists only when the body is in session. Who advises these people?

So who has the bigger ego and pretensions, the woman leading the HoB or the woman leading the HoD?? Good grief. Both seem to be competing to see who can push the boundaries of their power the farthest, far beyond anything spelled out in the Constitution and Canons of TEC.

Oh, I forgot. Those documents are meaningless to those running TEC these days. Literally. The C&C are like the ink blots on a Rohrschack test; the words mean whatever the current leaders declare them to mean, as required to further their all-important political agenda.

Hmmm. Might turn out to be an interesting catfight.

Neither ++KJS nor Bonnie Anderson have any integrity. And they seem to have lost all ability to blush or be ashamed (see Jer. 6:15).
