I saw the score this morning and wondered what happened. A very gutsy call by the Vandals coach to go for 2 instead of playing it “safe” and holding on for OT.
I like it – it puts the burden on the players – I know when I played I liked this kind of challenge.
I’ve been a Vandals fan ever since I read Instant Replay and learned that Jerry Kramer went there. Plus, I like any team called “Vandals.”
But in terms of football endings, Kendall, ain’t NOTHIN’ beating this. Webster Groves, my high school, versus Chaminade in the Missouri Class 5A state semifinals:
