We used the Qunicunque vult (The Athanasian Creed) in the place of the Apostle’s Creed in Evening Prayer as Antecommunion at the Christmas Eve service last evening. The line from the sermon that struck my heart was that God’s love was as simple and as complex as a baby. My meditation on that has been that God’s love is as attractive and endearing as a newborn but He will settle for nothing less than a Person-to-person relationship.

Blessed Nativity!
I’m looking for the incarnate — that which is God’s truth, presence and power.
I too reflect on God’s love and how my human understanding of love can’t come close to what that means.
Y’all may not realize it, but you sound a lot like Augustine(paraphrased):
“O Lord, Thou didst strike my heart with Thy Word and I loved Thee”…
🙂
Thank God He became flesh and dwells among us…
“. . . for unto YOU is born a Savior. . . .”
That pretty much says it all for me. Thanks, God.
