Amen! We went after church yesterday and were captivated. Some of the Britain’s best acting talent in the cast.

  2. Bookworm(God keep Snarkster) says:

This one’s on our list to hit in the next two weeks–we’ve about worn out babysitters for all the Xmas church activities!! Only fair to give them a break for a bit… 🙂

  3. David Keller says:

Saw it yesterday. Colin Firth is unbelievable. If Academy Awards are actually for acting (which I question after Sandra Bullock won) he certainly deserves one.

  4. frdarin says:

Agreed – saw it today. Best I’ve seen in quite a long time.

  5. Jill Woodliff says:

Avoid Black Swan. Why would anyone pay money to watch a beautiful gifted girl commit suicide? (Yes, she was lost and sinful, but with much potential for redemption.) There is not a single character filled with goodness and light, and the movie has a satanic feel to it. I walked out in the middle.

  6. Tired of Hypocrisy says:

Great movie on a number of levels.

My wife and I went yesterday. The best movie I have seen in a very long time. My wife wants to see it again, which is very unusual for her.

If it were possible I would give Best Actor jointly to Firth and Geoffrey Rush. I thought Rush’s performance was every bit as good as Firth’s, and the chemistry of the movie was how they played off each other.
