(ACNS) Study guide on the Anglican Communion Covenant published

A study guide and a Questions & Answers document was published today to assist people exploring the Anglican Communion Covenant.

The study guide (available as a pdf document) from the Anglican Communion website (www.anglicancommunion.org) is intended for parishes, deaneries, dioceses or groups of individuals wishing to explore the Covenant and the way it describes Anglican identity.

    Yes, the Gafcon provinces have declared as a bloc that they are not signing. Other orthodox provinces have also expressed disinterest, and many liberal groups and churches don’t like it either.

    Without widespread support, what is the point?

    It certainly worked well to distract the orthodox since 2004 and kept ’em busy. In the end, just more anglican waste paper.

    Isn’t it amazing what time will do. Only 7-8 years ago the ABC and AC was exploring the removal of TEC from Communion Structures and now they are running them. Likewise I expect the Covenant to be only a memory in a few years time.

    As robroy suggests all this was a calculated distraction for the orthodox.
