This was one of the most encouraging talks of the conference. He correctly urges that the bar be set very high for ordination and not lowered, a particular temptation and danger given the unsettled state of North American Anglicanism with the alphabet soup of jurisdictions. I particularly like his remark that students were coming to his seminary BECAUSE of the Prayer Book, rather than in spite of it. No surprise to me, but might be to those who wear their Anglicanism rather lightly and advocate something less demanding and more “seeker-friendly” than the BCP.
