Mock ye may but (so I have read) in terms of the sport most played soccer rules – see public parks in any city in the U.S. And of course as the Hispanic population grows so will the popularity of soccer. As for so-called football – all those men in armor clanking across the field – forget it. Baseball may survive being a debased form of cricket and of course as the West Indian population in the U. S. grows, etc.
American football, like the US motor industry, cannot cannot find an export market – the rest of the world just isn’t interested. American football is another clunking domestic giant and, I suspect that even in its home patch it will not long survive competition from a livelier, more entertaining product which has already captured the market in the rest of the world.

Imagine what the score could have been if they’d just pick up the ball.
