This is probably never going to happen again but I’ve got to agree with Susan Russell. The way they’re going these days, I think SC has to get a look at a national title.
Well, LA Anglican, we here in the Sooner State only flush our toilets because we know Texas needs the water. ::grin:: I was watching and praying for LSU to be beaten (and it was close) and then to be followed by USC (sorry, Susan, but the memory of Leinart still causes me to chafe) Then I was very happy that we were able to put a stop to Chase Daniel’s cockiness. Our defense basically shut him down completely. Now, let me close by saying that I fully expected us to walk in, start wonderfully and then choke. That’s what OU is great at doing….at least in recent years. That’s what convinced me that Stoops has been selling the playbook every year. Based on tonight’s performance, I rather think that he bought Mizzou’s.
And Appalachian State University, the Subdivision team that beat Michigan back in September, won over Eastern Washington University to advance to the semi-finals. Our Mountaineers have a shot at a third-straight national title.
Most importantly of all the Buckeyes of THE Ohio State University are quaranteed a trip back to the National Championship game, back to back years and the third time this decade. To all of the doubters and haters out there this year I can only say, “O-H!!” Go Bucks…
CJ,
Well, there’s always next year for our Tigers 🙂
I at least had the pleasure of living/working in Kansas for the last week. I’ll have to sneak into the office early tomorrow to take down all the copies of last week’s AP and BCS ratings I had plastered all over the place…
MIZZOU-Rah!!
University of Hawai’i – the only undefeated team in the Bowl Championship Subdivision – won last night.
However, like the Orthodox in TEC, they are not part of the “conversation.” They are 12-0 and last night their QB was 42 of 50 with 5 TDs and no INTs. Also, their much maligned defense which gave up 21 points in the first quarter shut Washington down for 0 points in the second half.
Also, Bob from Boone – thanks for mentioning Appy St. While they beat my JMU Dukes (National Champs in 2004), in the first round 28-27, they should be able to 3-peat (although watch out for Richmond). Actually, maybe Appalachian State and Hawai’i should play for the National Championship.
Hawai’i should certainly play for the national championship. Might be good for them to transfer to the PAC-10 if that were a possibility, where they might at least be noticed.
Well, I have to say last night was a wonderful conclusion to a great and dramatic college football season. I watched my LSU Tigers win over Tennessee, and then flipped between Pitt-W.Va. and Okalahoma/Mizzou. The Pitt game was awesome…they call it the backyard brawl. Pitt’s coach was fun to watch. The refs were doing everything they could to keep W.Va from losing…it was crazy stuff.
So far, the coaches poll put Ohio State first, LSU second. If the Harris poll does the same thing, it will be OS vs. LSU in New Orleans for the national championship.
This is yet again an example as to how the dividing line is drawn in any fight in this country. There are so many ridiculous teams in this country that it is not even funny. There is NO team in ANY conference that can compare to THE Buckeyes of THE Ohio State University and yet there are more than a dozen ridiculous loser who are trying to make a point and not vote the best team in the nation number one. I say folly to those who would love to be intentionally didiculous. Go Bucks. OH!!!
Wasn’t much fun down here in Missouri tonight. 😉 But my Tigers had a good run. And we get another year of Chase Daniel.
And USC won … again!
It’s the walking wounded this year in the BCS. The winner will be a complete crapshoot.
As a Texas Longhorn, I can never congratulate Oklahoma even though my wife was born there (but she had enough sense to go to UT).

OSU and LSU in title game–gotta be. Not sure which team I dislike more.

Hope Ohio State can go to the Rose Bowl, where it will be one more Big 10 team that gets drilled by the Pac 10. (i’m not a USC or UCLA fan)
