I watched it. Quite telling that this first time deputy does not say a word about spreading the Good news of Jesus Christ but instead spends time explaining how TEC is debating resolutions that are not concerned with the real mission of the church but are instead discussing social justice concerns. Social justice concerns are real concerns but they should not be the only aspect of the church’s mission to the world. If I were totally new to TEC and attended GC as a visitor, I would wonder if this was a gathering of Christians. The only thing that would give that impression to me is clergy wearing clerical collars. Other than that, I would really wonder.
