Yeah for the cats of the world who can give wonderful “pastoral care” in their own kitty way! At least this sort of pastoral care has scientific documentation that it can lower blood pressure and along with other health benefits. Perhaps you could obtain a staff position for your cat?
Weirdest prayer request ever:
I don’t always have nice things to say about cats…I prefer dogs…but I would appreciate prayer (yes, prayer) for our cat. As my wife and I head to Africa, our cat will be transferred to our daughter Chara. The problem is the Chara lives in Montreal and Tawny lives in Pittsburgh – 10 hour drive – and he (yes, Tawny is a ‘he’) HATES cars. Valium may or may not help – prayer certainly will. (For me, for Chara, and especialy for Tawny – the big trek is Saturday the 14th – day after tomorrow….)
Elves, this is off topic #3 I suggest Feliway over valium for Tawny. We have traveled by car many times with cats and it does help! You can get Feliway at revivialanimal.com or many pet stores. I will prayer for you all on Saturday. Safe travels! Sorry about that elves- back to the topic at hand.
Wow, that remains a seriously cute kitten. I’ll have to stop looking at pics of him because I’ll want one, hahaha. And that likely wouldn’t be a good idea with two dogs, one of them who is large, German, and enjoys picking up smaller animals and carrying them around in her mouth. We think it’s a maternal thing or else it’s an unfortunate result of being named Morgan Le Fay, heh. Only a feline brimming with cattitude would likely thrive here and I don’t deal well with cattitude, lol.
B’aawww. Nothing is better than a friendly cat. I have known a number of parishes that have church cats; they can be amazingly effective evangelists and even better Stephen Ministers.

That will do it.

At our house (which has a cat) we always say “We have to take care of the animals, because they take care of us”. What a nice kitty!
