A Prayer to Begin the Day

Make our hearts to burn within us, O Christ, as we walk with thee in the way and listen to thy words; that we may go in the strength of thy presence and thy truth all our journey through, and at its end behold thee, in the glory of the eternal Trinity, God for ever and ever.

Oh Kendall, you can’t know how perfect a prayer this is for me to read and pray this morning. Thank you! It’s a perfect echo of what I’ve been speaking to the Lord in my quiet time… so I gladly add my Amen to this prayer.

I hope and pray you had a blessed Easter Day and that this Easter season will be filled with the joyful reality of His resurrection and His presence.

It really is a beautiful prayer, I may have been thinking of it this morning since Peter Walker preached at the parish where I serve yesterday, and he preached on the Road to Emmaus story.
