Congratulations to San Diego and the New York Giants, to the Patriots and the Packers

Interesting that all 4 games this weekend were such good games.
In the busyness of preparing for my return to Africa, I hadn’t had any time to watch TV in days and had totally forgotten about the playoffs. But that has been rectified. My flight out of Miami tonight is delayed by 4 hours +, meaning I got to watch most of the Giants game. That was at least a fun diversion since I was a pretty avid Giants fan growing up in NJ. And New York – Dallas is such a great rivalry!
Now I’m just hoping we’ll FINALLY board soon (my flight was supposed to leave at 5:30, but the plane didn’t even arrive in Miami until after 7. I’m guessing we might leave around 10…. Sigh.
Oh well, Football playoffs and my laptop and the internet make the time pass quickly enough. Go Giants!
Wow! Talk about a quick post. The Cowboys/Giants game just ended a few minutes ago and it’s already a thread.
My husband is waiting to to get out of the parking lot at Cowboy Stadium in Irving and he is not a happy camper. 🙁
I’ve been a Green Bay Packer fan since the early 70’s. It has been a great weekend.
Yaaawwwn. Is it baseball season yet?
Go Pack! What’s the weather forecast for Green Bay next weekend?
I am with Ad Orientem. Only one month or so till the players report for Spring Training! Go D-backs!
Kendall: I suppose all games were closely contended. Perhaps, that’s what you mean by “good” games. The Cowboys played a miserable game, unworthy of a playoff contender. The Giants made fewer mistakes and took it to the ”-Boys” at crunch time, late in the game. Still and all, it did end with the Good Guys (ahem…that would be the team from Dallas, IMHO) having one last chance at a comeback miracle. Alas, on this Sunday, they did not deserve to comeback.
Katherine, NOAA says Sunday’s forecast mostly sunny with a high near 12. Get your cheese curds ready.
Kickoff temp is predicted to be about 5 degrees with a bit of wind. Every church in Wisconsin has probably cancelled Sunday night services. The crime rate in Green Bay will disappear for about three hours on Sunday night and it will be quieter in town than the kids’ bedroom on Christmas Eve.
I also checked prices for tickets last night when the paper announced some were available from season ticket holders. Sideline seats down low and seats in the corners (where the players jump after touchdowns) are going for between $2,500 and $7,500, if they are still available. Everything else is more “reasonably” priced at $700-$1,500. That’s per ticket. Yikes!
