Thursday Afternoon Mental Health Break–a 4 minute look at London from the Air via a Drone–WOW

Watch it all.

“Take from us all doubt and mistrust. Lift our thoughts up to thee….” as the prayer said this morning. Don’t miss the shot in the middle of Saint Paul’s Cathedral. Watch it all.

Some oft-seen, hugely familiar sights there.

A challenge to us Londoners. Here is my guide with approximate timings:
0.16, railway lines, unidentified but possibly London Fields/Bethnal Green
    0.40, Spitalfields, Christchurch
0.50 unidentified back streets, possibly Shoreditch
    1.00 Serpentine lake, Hyde Park
1.18 Oxo Tower, giving first of many views of our towering new building, named The Shard. Oxo Tower so-named because it got round a ban on advertising lights by piercing windows in the building in the shape of an O, X, O
    2.00 Royal Naval Hospital, Greenwich
    2.14 Truman’s Brewery, Bethnal Green
    2.24 Millennium Bridge
2.28 St Paul’s Cathedral with view down Ludgate Hill to Fleet St
Finally 3.03 we spin in a circular panorama giving a view of the City from above Spitalfields. Look out for the new buildings called The Walkie-Talkie and The Gherkin.
Folks – lovely though it was, too many pix of mean back streets. London is lovelier, trust me. But given that the time is 7 a.m. (by the Christ Church Spitalfields clock) oh dear it outs us Londoners as late risers as indeed we are … the streets are nearly empty.
