O Lord Christ, thou Prince of peace, the faithful and true: Grant to us all, we beseech thee, that putting on the whole armour of God, we may follow thee as thou goest forth conquering and to conquer; and, fighting manfully under thy banner against sin, the world, and the devil, may be found more than conquerors, and at the last may be refreshed with the multitude of peace in the holy city of our God; whose is the greatness and the power, the victory and the majesty, world without end.
Thank you Kendall for this prayer. From what resource did it come?

David the full bibliographical data is on this is
A Form of Prayer to Almighty God at this Time of War to be Used on Sunday, May 26th, 1940. Issued Under the Authority of the Archbishops of Canterbury and York (London: SPCK, 1940) p. 12
It is often referred to simply as a Form of Prayer 1940, it is a special 20 page liturgy for that momentus period in history for that country.
It is a wonderful liturgy with superb prayers in a time of war.
Thanks Kendall, I will take it out on my next trip to the TSM library
Warm Advent Blessings
