    Some particular points:

#28 – a reference to GAFCON which seems to suggest that someone is about to cross borders to support revisionist parishes in GAFCON diocese. Since I doubt TEC is going to find many takers in Africa, I suspect this means San Joaquin, Pittsburgh, FW etc.

#62 – particular concern is expressed about the primates meeting, seeming to indicate that Lambeth is about to attack the most orthodox instrument of communion. (I wonder if they are concerned a primate’s meeting might be supportive of GAFCON. I wonder if Williams will refuse to hold another gathering of primates out of fear they may challenge his authority.)

Its interesting that this one is staying in:
“Support those who are isolated in their dioceses by initiatives such as that by Gafcon”

The rest of the document looks like a document the United Nations could have produced. All about womens rights, environmental concerns, helping the poor, enaging with other faiths. All good things, but it largely misses the point of what a Christian church is really all about apart from a few small paragraphs.

  3. Chris Hathaway says:

That is one long pile of crap.

    Two things I noticed:

    1. In paragraph 17 where it lists 4 things to which this document was designed to be faithful, Scripture isn’t one of them. This document is to be faithful to the Gospel (however you may define it?), to the process, to the bishops and to the Communion.

    2. Nowhere did I find a mention of the issue in the middle of the living room . Perhaps I missed it, but I saw nothing about sexual morality and the divisions within the Communion over fidelity to Scripture.

    Conflict Resolution Avoidance Process

  4. Don Armstrong says:

I find this document avoidant…it is institutional speak without real get up and do…

The real sign that nothing of substance is going to be said is in the last lines where the issue of sexuality has been again coupled with listening…and we all know what that means…

And what about really addressing what it means for example when someone says Jesus is ‘a’ way instead ‘the’ way…
