Iran's Ahmadinejad: US 'empire' nears collapse

Iran’s president addressed the U.N. General Assembly Tuesday declaring that “the American empire” is nearing collapse and should end its military involvement in other countries.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said terrorism is spreading quickly in Afghanistan while “the occupiers” are still in Iraq nearly six years after Saddam Hussein was ousted from power in Iraq.

“American empire in the world is reaching the end of its road, and its next rulers must limit their interference to their own borders,” Ahmadinejad said.

He accused the U.S. of starting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to win votes in elections and blamed a “few bullying powers” for trying to undermine Iran’s nuclear program.

it might not sound pleasant to Western ears….but I think he has a point. Consider that when Empires collapse – first you see a loss f moral compass and a hedenistic revival- then follows all else.

For a while I have been convinced that the West is in meltdown and that the principled regimes of the far and middle east are aligning themselves to take over.

What this will mean for Christianity worldwide and life in general is anyone’s guess…ranging from running back to th catacombs to a revival of faith!

The US took up where the British empire expired and on our present course we will end up the same way: broke, socialist and populated by our enemies. The end result of imperial ventures is an influx of natives into the mother country, and our democratic institutions will prove worse than useless against Muslims who do their part in the jihad simply by populating the West with themselves.

As an acquaintance wryly put it, we are fighting them over there so we can invite them over here.

What this nefarious evil-monger doesn’t realize is that Christianity, when squeezed, opposed, threatened, SPECIALIZES in Resurrection, return to Christ, return to basic foundations of the Faith, Timeless Doctrine and Community, opposition to evil despite the cost…
TEC has shown us how true Christian Anglicans awaken and act when Christ shakes and nudges them.

Ahmadinejad? Who is he? Oh, that’s right, the fellow who says that the holocaust never really happened. When he shows an understanding of history that is based on reality, then maybe I will start to care what his predictions for the future are.

PS – it’s time for this country (Christian and non-Christian) to wake up, pull together like in WWII and the depression – get back to basics, tighten belts, cut superfluous spending, pay off debts, live in gratitude and thanksgiving and praise not greed and covetousness, learn to sacrifice, share, save – learn restraint, integrity, build character in our children (model it or build it in ourselves). The era of lavish indulgence is gone for now.

    But what about this?

In an inexplicable move, some religious organizations will host a dinner reception on September 25 for one of the world’s most renowned terrorist supporters, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He has been asked to speak on the topic, “Has Not One God Created Us? The Significance of Religious Contributions to Peace.” I stand with the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom in strongly condemning this move by the American Friends Service Committee, the Mennonite Central Committee, the World Council of Churches, and the Episcopal Church.

Wonder who from ECUSA will be in attendance tomorrow night? After all, this past summer, Bishop Chane called on us to have “tolerance” for the Iranian president – I mean, we wouldn’t want to hurt his feelings with nasty questions about religious repression and hanging homosexuals, would we?

  7. Milton says:

Well, Branford, if she is not too busy pretending to depose orthodox TEc bishops or co-celebrating MDG masses or gay and lesbian-only masses with —Rowan, don’t be surprised to see -KJS there. In fact, she may cancel other appointments and clear her schedule to be sure to have some face time with H_tl_r II, unlike that religious leader, Benedict someone-or-other, for whose invitation she was simply too busy to answer with her presence.

  8. St. Jimbob of the Apokalypse says:

If military might alone accounted for America’s influence in the world, then it might seem that the “Empire” is over. But America’s influence is also rooted in selfless giving in times of need and times of threat. Who’s going to step up and feed the hungry of all continents? Who will stand up for the oppressed around the world. We’ve already seen that Russia won’t, and neither will China. While the Iranian president may decry American interference, and get a chorus of amens from others in the U.N., who can replace our charity?

  9. Billy says:

As at other times, the announcement of our impending death as a nation and civilization appears to be greatly exaggerated. But we should all take stock in how far we have let common sense and the values with which we were raised by our parents and grandparents be diluted and ignored. It is time to put or feet down and say enough foolishness, enough political correctness, enough obvious immorality. Are we up to the challenge? Only with His help, as we say in our baptismal service.

Let’s see 1) Sadaam Hussein invaded Kuwait-a number of nations including the US moved in and cleaned his clock. 2) Terrorists traced to Afghanistan flew into the WTC and took it out. 3) A groupt of nations including the US rolled into Afghanistan and took over things for awhile. 4) The taliban terrorists crossed the border into Iraq desiring to continue the conflict. It seems we are in the process of cleaning them up again. I hope Iran does not make the same mistake. It appears they are lying their heads off – shades of Adolph Hitler.
