Christopher Howse: A meeting with three unknown persons

In the mystical sense that Christians add to the literal sense of the Bible, they may validly see a hint of the doctrine of the Trinity. They would be silly to look for any such hint in the Koran, which Muslims, but not they, believe to be God’s word.

Read it all.

Actually I have met an Orthodox CHristian priest who said the Koran converted him. Fr. Daniel, who risks his life daily by preaching Orthodoxy in Indonesia, was raised Muslim. He read some passage in the Koran that spoke of the “word” of Allah…This reminded him of what CHristians had said about Jesus. It convinced him of the truth of Christian teaching of the Trinity. He was baptized, and converted a fair number of his family (three generations, including a relative who had resolved to kill him after he left Islam). Note to Ann Redding. You can’t play on two teams, as Fr. Daniel can tell you.
