To the clergy and convention delegates,
We are neither surprised nor alarmed by the lawsuit brought against the diocese on Tuesday. Our attorneys are reviewing the allegations and will be advising me on how to respond.
We are confident that we followed the proper legislative process in amending our Constitution and Canons and are prepared to make our case in court if necessary.
Your patience and prayers will be much appreciated as this process unfolds.
A blessed and joyous Eastertide to all of you.
–(The Rt. Rev.) Jack Iker
Easter present from Schori and Company = Law suit.
What a way for “Christians” to be celebrating the Resurrection of Our Lord!!

Somehow, I don’t think Schori and Friends will find the Texas courts very hospitable, especially since the diocese respectfully offered to give them the properties where the majority of folks wanted to stay in TEC. But, nope, TEC wants it all and they want to sue. That won’t sit well here.
my prayers go with him and his flock.
Question? Is it possible the PB will get so sue-happy that she’ll empty all the TEC coffers and have to declare bankrupty?? A lot of that is going on right now.
My prayers go out to Bishop Iker and the faithful in Ft. Worth.
I don’t see how Gulik can sleep at night. I guess he enjoys being a pawn.
Are the any resolutions in the upcoming General Convention forbidding Dioceses from leaving?
Any resolution forbidding a diocese from leaving would only help Ft. Worth, for it would make crystal clear that there was no prior prohibition. Such a resolution may nevertheless pass, so that current dioceses don’t take follow Ft. Worth as a precedent.
Thank you +Iker for your calm, yet strong and faithful leadership through these turbulent times! The more I hear going on outside the Dioc. of Ft. Worth, the more thankful I am to be in it!!
I am praying and anticipating a wonderful work of God.
The most lawsuits and the most depositions in the history of PECUSA. Why not blame it on Global Warming? The sole reason can’t be the inclusive and reconciliation minded leadership of TEC initiating these lawsuits.
Surely it is President Bush’s fault somehow.
We in the DSJ feel their pain.
