(London) Times: Israel stands ready to bomb Iran's nuclear sites

The Israeli military is preparing itself to launch a massive aerial assault on Iran’s nuclear facilities within days of being given the go-ahead by its new government.

Among the steps taken to ready Israeli forces for what would be a risky raid requiring pinpoint aerial strikes are the acquisition of three Airborne Warning and Control (AWAC) aircraft and regional missions to simulate the attack.

Two nationwide civil defence drills will help to prepare the public for the retaliation that Israel could face.

    This is insanity!

This is what happens when one feels alone in the world – as I think Israel does now that Pres. Obama is in office. I don’t mean to say we are not still strong allies of Israel or that Pres. Obama would not offer aid, but I think the Israeli government, with some good reason, thinks that the U.S. would not help protect Israel if she is attacked by Iran.

Israel will do whatever they feel is necessary to protect their country. It may be insane, but do expect Israel to sit back and let Iran develop the weapons that could destroy them?

I have said this before in prior articles about Israel: Scripture is not silent on Israel, and what it means to be an enemy of Israel. Harry S. Truman mentioned this when the state of Israel was formed. We had better stay on the side of Israel if we want to have any hope at all. God does act in this world in ways we do not understand. Benjamin Franklin has an excellent essay on logically arguing this point. I for one do not want to be an enemy of Israel.

Does anyone today think that Israel’s destruction of Saddam’s Osirak reactor was a bad idea?

    Anyone?
