Two patients with inoperable prostate cancer have made dramatic recoveries after receiving one dose of an experimental drug that is creating excitement among cancer specialists.
The results were so startling that researchers decided to release details of the two cases before the drug trial ”“ in which the patients took part ”“ was complete. Doctors said their progress had exceeded all expectations. The men were treated at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota in the US, one of the top medical centres in the world.
Dr Eugene Kwon, the urologist who was in charge of their treatment, compared the results to the first pilot breaking the sound barrier.
“This is one of the Holy Grails of prostate cancer research. We have been looking for this for years,” he said.
This is a WOW. Thank you for posting this. I have forwarded it to several people. Thank God…praise God. Amen
I am a survivor of prostate cancer. Had the radical prostatectomy and very low PSA’s since. Usual with prostate cancer the pallative treatment will buy you 4-5 years. Prostate cancer is very slow growing and 95% of the cells are harmone driven. You get started on Estrogen and the 95% of harmone cells quite reproducing and it takes years for the other 5% to take over. Often in older men they die of something else before the prostate cancer kills them. All that being said this very good news since radiation treatment and surgery have negative side effects.
I strongly recommend routine prostate cancer screening by a urologist. My PSA’a were elevated and dispite an intial biopsy being negative his exam made him very suspicious. leading to another staturated biospy that found cancer. The cancer was more advanced than the biopsy indicted!
I had prostate cancer surgery in 2007. Suddenly elevated PSA and a biopsy that found cancer. Undetectable PSA’s since. This is an amazing story.
