It is indicative of something that the report did not give the correct name of Metropolitan Jonah’s church, the Orthodox Church in America, not the “Orthodox Church in North America.

  2. RomeAnglican says:

It speaks volumes that they can’t bring themselves to call ACNA a church, preferring to sneer that it is a “group” or “entity.” Whatever one thinks of ACNA, the one thing it is by any reasonable observation is a church, both in Christian terms and by any secular measure also. It is rich in the extreme that TEC would question another group’s status as a church.

The bitterness exhibited by this piece also suggests that ACNA is of greater concern than 815 types are letting on. If it didn’t really bother them, why work so hard to produce a piece that is so snide?

  3. Chris Taylor says:

I was struck by how many references there were to property and assets. They seem a bit touchy about that.

Umm, I believe that Mrs Cheryl Chang is no longer a member of the Anglican Church of Canada. Instead, she is a member of the Anglican Church in North America. And of course, neither the ACofC nor TEC had any comments……or none that I would be interested in seeing or hearing, anyway. In short, I don’t think we really care about what either of them think or say!
