“From the last ballot: The numbers: Glasspool Lay: 188 Clergy: 149 Vasquez Lay: 173 Clergy: 102”
…
“glasspool wins in clergy order – 13 short in lay order – 4th ballot being counted”
The link is working now, thanks. From the posted results of the 3rd ballot, Glasspool now has the clergy vote totally sown up, with 149 votes for her versus just 102 for Vasquez, with only 11 other votes out there. And Glasspool only needs to get one third of the remaining 35 lay votes that went to other minor candidates to complete her victory. So I think she’s unstoppable at this point.
Which leaves the only real question, what will the fallout be??
Does anyone have any doubt that if Glasspool is elected her election will be confirmed by the necessary number of Standing Committees and Bishops? The Communion will soon see the clarity that GC 2009 so desperately tried to avoid.
This is just my own opinion, colored perhaps by my recent swim across the Tiber, but for all the complaints from TEC about whichever pope it was in the 19th century that declared Anglican orders invalid, all I see is the Holy Spirit moving to protect a large part of His Church (long before anyone thought it would be necessary). Since Anglican orders were declared invalid, the RCC doesn’t even have to worry about this or women’s ordination or any other crazy configuration the Anglican Communion thinks up as far as apostolic succession concerns go.
No. 9: Yes, but it looks as if the momentum, if there is any, could be breaking in V’s, not G’s, favor. G. lost more clergy votes than V. from 3 to 4. She also lost a good many lay votes. V. gained in lay votes and lost only 2 clergy votes. Both clergy and laypeople appear to be slowly departing.
I am genuinely surprised that Kennedy has not withdrawn. Mary Glasspool is elected in the laity again, but is now closer in the clergy order than she was on ballot #2.
Unusual election. Anyone know how many ballots the convention is committed to? I have been watching this election all day (Mary G is a friend), but it’s time to go to the Christmas Revels at the Lisner — will wait til I get home to see the conclusion.
Elves, please check the link. It’s not working for me.

#4 is confirmation necessary in the case of a suffragan?

Yes.
#6 Brian from T19 – many thanks.
And not a soul mentioned the Word Which Shall Not Be Spoken:
Moratorium.
Looks like +Smith defeated in Louisiana and we’ve got deadlock in LA. Glasspool has the clergy and the contender has the laity.
4th Ballot posted
Glasspool has clergy
Vasquez has Lay
Romero withdrew

All diocesan elections are local above all. LA is no different. You can see that in the two front runners at the present time.

5th Ballot has been posted. Little change.
It appears as though Kennedy may consider bowing out now. Still between the other two and it could go either way.
On the 6th ballot, significant gain for Glasspool+ and losses in both houses for Vasquez+

I think you have it reversed. Vasquez has lost the laity in the 6th ballot, but Glasspool+ has had the clergy since the 3rd ballot

Rumors of an election…
Sorry i reversed the orders in #17, thanks Brian from t19
Glasspool+ wins.
